"As you would expect from Toyota, the cabin feels utterly solid, it is evident that materials have been carefully chosen to boost the quality feel for the least cost..."

"For something so tall and weighing 1639kg, it is remarkably entertaining to drive. Turn into a bend and there’s little roll, composed damping and accurate steering..."

"Why Toyota persevered with the frustrating side-hinged rear door is a mystery. It’s heavy, useless in tight spaces and doesn't open to a full 90 degrees..."

"The RAV4 is solidly engineered, refined and practical. Only the high price, relatively poor outright performance and an awkward rear door count against it..."
